20. This is a very good picture of the famine that is still to this day taking place.

21. one of somalias main problems would be the fact that they are suffering from internation lawlessness

http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.eritreadaily.net/News1206/

images/SomaliaPrtst122906.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.eritreadaily.net/News1206/article1206300.htm&h=307&w=600&sz=63&hl=en&start=123&um=1&usg=__MtJXhaYspIYNP1j0Z5A8JRlNVSc=&tbnid=AexagTG0ppDNSM:&tbnh=69&tbnw=135&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dsomalia%26start%3D108%26ndsp%3D18%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN

22. another issue that somalia is struggling with is the famine http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://barrybrumfield.com/prophecy/end_times/images/baidoa_somalia_92.jpg&imgrefurl=http://barrybrumfield.com/prophecy/end_times/famine.htm&h=303&w=200&sz=31&hl=en&start=6&um=1&usg=__EoMcCbvgAf8S8rk0h_hOB5F1J3A=&tbnid=k7cGjya1uD4KsM:&tbnh=116&tbnw=77&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dsomali%2Bfamine%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DX

23.Besides all of these horrible things that are occuring the government still is unestablished and that would also help the people if they were to have a government set in.

24. Back to images.google.com and somailia you can see that buildings are abandoded and that schools are left

25. you can also see that camels are ridden a lot of the time to get around because there is not a lot in the transportation way.

26. from a lansat view you can see how that there is some veggitation but a lot of somalia is just desert and coast http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.afmaal.com/media/somalia.aerials/10km-over-somalia.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.afmaal.com/gallery/aerials.html&h=901&w=600&sz=258&hl=en&start=264&um=1&usg=__GDAWiYGGO5Ubwp0WBblY16_g9Tc=&tbnid=QtfY0y8xLXqZTM:&tbnh=146&tbnw=97&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dsomalia%26start%3D252%26ndsp%3D18%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN

Somalia

SOMALIA

Somalia is in need of help right now. The economy and political stand has collapsed due to tribal ties being paramount to national ones. Somalia has one of the largest coast lines on the content and bordered by the Indian ocean and the Gulf of Aden. Somalia is abanded just because of the fact that the government and economy there has been abanded as well. The thing is that if you get a good government and laws running again it could pull out of the rut that it is in. They have some schools and people who are trying to help but for any life changing events to happen we need the U.N’s help we need the money and the power that you have to do the right thing. Nobody there sees the light at the end of the tunle but it is possiable. Anything is. And i know that once we get Somalia up and running then it would start the rebuilding for every other country in African. African has been down for as long as i can remember and i don’t understand how we can stand around and watch our neighbors die off, starved and torcherd and i know that right now that it seems a little hard to reach but if you start now then anything is attainable. When you get the government is up and running then look at all of the natural resorces that Somalia has it has a large coastline and planes, vallies and mountains. It is an easy place to travel to from the Northeastern hemisphere because it is on the coast line so boats and other cruse ships could easly get there stopping on the way at other neighboring contreys or contents. Sence there has been no building or reconstruction you basicaly have a clean slate to take in, there can be so much to do with it because there has been nothing done with it yet. Somalia can be the best place you travle to hiking throw the Karkaar mountains and feel peace and quiete overfill you so much land that can be use to the advantage of the contrey there is so much potential in Somalia that it can really be the next big destination spot.

Data Is

September 22, 2008

1.1 and 0 are the numbers that represent the binary code. 1 being open and 0 being close.

2.A hard disk is made of aluminia

3.To read and html you need a web browser, which will read the codes of a web page and put it in to the correct text.

5.Programs are large groups of bytes, which put together a code that figures out how to form calculations. These codes tell the computer how to work to the create the product you clicked on.

6.CPU stands for the central processing unit, which does calculations required to run programs.

7.RAM is also known as random access memory. It is very important microchips that shuffle data in groups; ram is a key component in determining your computers key functions.

8. GUI- graphical user interface, which allows you to easily give instructions to the program.

9. No the web is not always reliable because some websites like wikipidia are open to the public to change and write on.

10.An operating system is a series of programs (digital code which is interpreted as instructions by the computer) which together operate the hardware which is connected together in the computer, and the hardware which is connected to the computer.

11.This group of programs coordinate the processing of data (calculations) by the CPU which is the primary “calculator” in the computer.

12.Yes the web is all somewhat connected.

13.An input devise is something like a a keyboard or a mouse.

14. The Internet, more properly called the World Wide Web.

15. The speed at which any computer sends and receives information is called bandwidth.

16. Broadband, ADSL

17.The web is the many computers which share information between each other

18.Email or electronic mail is a method of communicating which uses the resources of the web.

19.No, not all e-mail messages are secure. The information may accessed by others.

20.No, the transmission of an e-mail may take hours even days because it must be passed through many computers

21.It depends, but it is possible for the government to see your e-mail (but it is unlikely that they would really want to look at everyone’s e-mail).

22.FORTRAN, Perl, Java and Pascal are all new programming languages.

23.The computer works on a binary system, ones mean on and zeros mean off. These coded letters are grouped together into bits (alphabetical letters) then Programs. These programs tell the computer how to work to perform the requested task. The programs take instructions from the input devices and give you a product. Applications are fancy programs that use a graphical user interface (GUI) to allow you to easily give information to the computer. An operating system is a series of programs and applications that operate the hardware that is connected in the computer. This part involves the CPU or central processing unit, which is like the computer’s calculator. The operating system also manages the use of memory. Data is stored on the hard disk drive, an aluminum disk that has a coating that can be rearranged to store data. The hard drive sends a code through the mother-board (CPU). input devices give information to the computer. Networks are systems that connect computers (the web and email).

History of computers

September 19, 2008

ASCII White- really high teck computer one of the biggest ones that is out there

Charels Babbage- Said to be the one to first desine the computer

Herman Holleritn- Made the Tallie punch cards; the sences

Colossus- computer like machine biult to brake the Germans coads

Manonely Z Eckert- gient sized couclulator desined

John Yon Newman- wrote a paper describing the modern day computer desing

IBM- Main fram computer company; later invented the pc

Kilby & Noyce- led to same idea of the sillicon chip the intigrated sercet

Tedd Hoff- micro prossessor tiny intocrated serkets

Douglas Engelbart- mouse keybord demostrantion of an easy way to use a computer

Xerox-the alto; mouse ; keybord. lazer printer

Steve Wozhinak & Steve Jobs- two guys who were hobbiests and revolutionists

Bill Gates- one of the worlds richest men in the world helped to desing the early computer for windows

one of the events that started the flight to the computer was the world war. They were trying so hard to creat a computer so that they could beat the Russans in the war. Many belived that the side that biult this devise first would be the onces to win the war.

Also the battle for the first man on the moon. This man the US work hard to develop such a devise to get a man on the moon first.

Also just the fact that in all the work being done and just the world evolving contributed to the invention of the computers.

before CRT the computers used a series of pully and levers and switch boxes

Now computers use mother boards and input output devices

Hurricanes effecting the Gulf Coast

September 11, 2008

The problem with Hurricanes hitting our Coast line is that they are getting stronger and more forceful every year. Hurricanes are A tropical storm with violent cyclonic winds exceeding 72 mph on the western north Atlantic coast.

The cause of all of these hurricanes is, the warm air and and storms that migrate to the warter from the coast of Africa.

The effects of all of the Hurricanes is poverties, or the wiping out of supplies, political conflicts, and bonds between nations.

The people it effects are not only the ones who got the impact of the sate that was hit, it also economically and emotionally effects the rest of the nation.

Hurricanes have been around for a long time but the force and big impacts really started with Katrina in 2005.

Nobody really just came up and created this problem it was a freak accident  made by mother nature.

Some solutions that can take place would be making sure that people have the supplies that they need and evacuation sites but other then that there is really not that much that we can do about mother nature.

No there isn’t really any other solutions that we can do to help this problem that is occurring.

Why this problem should be solved would be so that people won’t have to go through losing not only there homes but there loved ones as well. Also it hurts the economy in that place.

About Blogs

September 9, 2008

My first blog post was about what i knew about computers.

Autobloggreen, slashgear and treehugger are all informational websites, they help people find out information that they need to find.

A blog is a website that people can openly talk and wright about ideas or theories or even just things that they want to say and then they can publish them so others can read and respond to them.

One thing that you can do before you write an angrey email is you should just cool down and think about what you are actually going to say and then think through it so you don’t get into a fight or get hurt later on.

No, you really shouldn’t use all caps, colored font or larger lettering when you send an e-mail because it looks really unprofessional.

Spam is sent out to a large group of people and is usually just advertisements.

It is generally helpful if you do have something in the subject line when you send an e-mail but i don’t think that it is necessarily required.

The best way to veiw a lot of websites at once is by opening different tabs.

Dogpile.com is an informational website it helps you find information that you may need.

On Friday September the 12 progress reports are going to be sent out.

Search engines

September 8, 2008

-Three search engines are google.com, Yahoo.com, ask.com

-the first web address on google was http://www.google.com/musica?aid=OYKq8MLYNvD&sa=X&oi=music&ct=image . On yahoo it was http://music.yahoo.com/ar-313268—Dixie-Chicks that popped up first. On ask.com http://who2.com/ask/dixiechicks.htm came up first. As you can tell they are not all the same

- I don’t think that one is necessarily better then the other one i just think it depends on what you are looking for.

-When you look up words and terms the search engines seem to give you just advertisement websites or websites to make you like them more like for instance when i typed in Barack Obama it gave me a website to the campanie web page. And for musical groups it sent me to places to buy their CD’s or Albums.

-But when i typed in Wikipidia into the 3 different web search engines then they all brought me to the same place

ALSO….(extra credit)

Google is trying to stick it to fire fox by creating this new browser, modern platform for web pages and applications named Chrome browser.

Google is the most popular search engine probably because it has a wider range and more options to go to on the web.

google, yahoo, Dogpile, and ask Jeves are all search directories with hierarchiacal databases with references to websites.

Future economic technology

September 5, 2008

-Wind powered cars are just one of the ways that the world is trying to adapt to the rising gas prices, and i think that if we do ind up inventing wind powered cars and locomotives then it will help a lot with the greenhouse effect because not as much co2 will be entering the air and destroying our atmosphere.

-Phoenix and other citys in the United States are already taking the steps to make it a National Solar City. If everyone trys harder to preduse less harmful gases and chemicals then over all that will help the world.

-In Africa they have discovered a type of dirt that holds the power to provide electricity for a small village, we don’t even realize how much we have as natural resources and if we just use them not all up but use them along with other electricity sources then we can reduce the rapid loss of resources.

-The fact that blue ray capibility rates are coming down gives a gap to fill that maybe sugests that there might be something more hi-teck coming out some time soon it also makes me think that the technology levels are incressing quite a bit.

-This is so cool that A gentleman by the name of Toby Fraley has found a way to make a robot that was made out of trash, saying that even if you think that it is junk it still can have a purpose and use to it.

-It amazes me how something as big as a 50″ screed TV can be as thin as 1.5″. How on earth can they use that much information in such a tiny space i know that things are changing and i guess that finding ways to fit more information and equipment into a smaller amount of space is just part of the world changing and expanding.

computers

September 3, 2008

well i don’t know everything about computers right now but i do know what is in the actual computer. I just don’t know like how everything works and how so many people can use and have access to so many different and foreign information. And i know the Internet is huge but how can so many people talk at once i mean what kind of soft wear do you have to have to do that? But i haven’t really had any funny or cool experiances with computers i mean i get on them use them and then get off i really don’t know what other experiances there would be…
